Clean up the world
Action "Clean Up the World" comes from Australia. It took place in 1989 for the first time, when 40 thousand Sydney residents took part in the cleaning of the port area. Already a year later, the action covered the whole of Australia, and the number of participants is growing every year. In Australia, the action takes place in March.
In Poland, the cleaning up of the world was initiated by Mira Stanisławska-Meysztowicz. The action, under the name "CleanUp the World - Poland", has been held here every year since 1994. Volunteers, schoolchildren, scouts, members of ecological organizations, employees of companies (employee volunteerism) and young and adults participate in the action.
An international campaign takes place around the world in the third week of September. It consists of collective cleaning of rubbish deposited outside the places where it is to be stored. Its aim is to increase the environmental awareness of the public.
In our school the world cleaning day is celebrated in a very popular way.
each class goes out with their tutor and students with garbage bags and protective gloves.
