How we celebrate Christmas in Poland
On the 25 of December we celebrate Christmas. This is very important holiday for christians in our county because its the day Jesus Christ was born, and of course it comes with a lot of customs.
On this day families meet at the dinner table and when on the sky the fisrt star is starting to shine we share a special wafer when exchanging Christmas greetings.
Another traditions is that we try to avoid any food that includes beef or pork thats why we also have ours 12 christmas dishes for example
- beet soup with mini dumplings (Barszcz z uszkami)
- mushroom soup (grzybowa)
- dumpling with mushroom and cabbage (pierogi z grzybami i kapusta)
- Cabbage with mushroom and peas (kapusta z grzybami i grochem)
- fried carp ( smażony karp )
After dinner we are listening christmas carols for example
